The Cat Eye Turbo Snail, Turbo fluctuosus, native to the waters off the coast California and central Pacific Ocean, is an excellent algae-eater and beneficial tank member. They are best housed in established reef tanks with plenty of live rock and away from aggressive tank mates. As scavengers they will eat algae, diatoms, and Cyanobacteria found around the tank and in the sand. Like most snails, once introduced the Mexican Turbo Snail requires no explicit care. Because of this and their beneficial nature, the Turbo Snail, and similar species, are recommended for any reef tank.
